“East Asia Super League – The Terrific 12” broadcast on FIBA Live Basketball TV

[Macao SAR – September 17, 2019] – Asia League Limited (Asia League) has announced that International Basketball Federation (FIBA) LPTV is broadcasting the FIBA-recognized “East Asia Super League – The Terrific 12” basketball tournament. This will bring The Terrific 12, co-organized by Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government and Asia League, to FIBA’s viewers across the world. The announcement solidifies Asia League and FIBA as firm allies in raising the level of international basketball.

Asia League CEO Matt Beyer stated, “We are, of course, very excited. Broadcasting The Terrific 12 over FIBA LPTV is huge for the additional coverage it brings to our teams. It shows the power of FIBA and Asia League’s win-win relationship.”

Asia League also announced that Chinese livestreaming platform Huya (虎牙直播) now carries The Terrific 12 games, expanding options available for fans in China and the region. The platform is a fast-growing player in sports and e-sports streaming, with 2019 Q2 viewers growing by 31% to reach 55.9 million.

The Terrific 12 tipped off today with an exciting match-up between the Seoul SK Knights vs. Blackwater Elite at. Following that, the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will challenge the Jeonju KCC Egis, followed by the Shenzhen Aviators and the San Miguel Beermen. Day 1 competition concluded with a face-off between TNT Katropa and the Liaoning Flying Leopards.

The Terrific 12 tournament in 2018 attracted over 37 million viewers while garnering over 3 thousand published articles and news pieces across East Asia. The number of viewers for the 2018 The Terrific 12 tournament was a 50% increase from the previous EASL tournament, the 2018 Summer Super 8 (18 million).
